Y'all know I always advocate for these methods, as they can be free, immediate, healthy, and easy to use for everyone. I'm talking about exercise and balance, of course, though there are those who advocate for diet and/or supplements as well. I'm not covering those in this post though.

Exercise can help tremendously with focus for people of any age with ADHD. Thirty minutes on a treadmill or bike or elliptical, or jogging, martial arts, snowboarding/skiing, etc. can last for a significant part of your day following it and improve your attention, focus, feeling less anxiety, and being productive.

For children this means DO NOT LET an educator take away recess for your ADHD child. It's removing the main coping skill your child needs to be successful in the classroom, and teachers may need some education about this as sometimes they do not know what to do with hyperactive behaviors such as getting up out of their seat frequently, fidgeting and needing to move even though they know they will get in trouble, and impulsive behaviors

out of their control.

Exercise can do it.

Balance also helps and there are exercises being developed based on my favorite ADHD book, ADHD 2.0 by Edward Hallowell, M. D., and John Ratey, M.D. You can purchase though this link or on your own (if you use the link please know I get a small commission but it does not cost you one cent more): https://amzn.to/3Mt0csR

Here is a youtube channel with exercises based on the book:
