I deep dive into understanding the neuropsych, and want to help others understand exactly what medication does. I'll include sources here for you to look at on your own and I am not a doctor (nor do I play one on TV) so please read cited sources carefully and make sure if you are googling that you look for trusted medical sources, and please discuss with your doctor your particular needs and exisiting conditions.

Nonstimulants

Viloxazine is classified as a Adrenergic uptake inhibitors for ADHD.

This medication is also known under the brand name Qelbree.

What this means is it interferes in the "cleanup" (meaning after the neurotransmitter is released into the space between two neurons, for those with ADHD enzymes "clean up" the exess too quickly and it can't bind to the next neuron to fire it) of Norepinephrine, one of the neurotransmitters of importance for people with ADHD. Norephinephrine helps with focus and attention and this medication may be preferred for those for whom anxiety and panic are present (well just about everyone has anxiety, but more extreme anxiety) and can't take stimulants as they increase their anxiety to uncomfortable levels.

This medication is also known as Strattera and has been used for some time. You can see user reviews of this medication on Drugs.com here Or on Additude magazine here

More info to come! Check back for updates.
