"(Otsuka) today announced positive topline results in a Phase 3b study (NCT06973577) evaluating centanafadine XR 280 mg once daily in adults with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and comorbid anxiety."
Centanafadine, the new ADHD medication, is expected to be approved on the 24th. I'm excited to see how people do on it and any issues. It has been widely tested in adults, kids, teens--and is a great alternative to a stimulant. It works like an SSRI except in addition to holding enzymes back from cleaning the synaptic cleft of Seratonin so soon, it also does so for Noepinephrine and Dopamine!
"low potential for abuse, with the most common adverse events including decreased appetite and headache."
The possibilities are enormous for people who can't take stimulants and Centanafadine works about as well as steroids do on ADHD symptoms--but without raising heartbeats or blood pressure. Side effects are somewhat similar though:
"The most frequently observed side effects for centanafadine (>5 percent and more frequent than placebo) included nausea, decreased appetite, diarrhea, insomnia, dry mouth and vomiting. The safety and tolerability profile was consistent with the known safety profile for centanafadine and an ADHD and anxiety comorbid population."
